Transition Area

The 2010 Nation's Triathlon is the most athlete-friendly, well-marked and convenient transtion area in the country!

Every row of the transition area is clearly marked with a very large row sign, making it easy to find your bike and your rack space. In addition, each athlete has a dedicated spot on the rack identified by your name and bib number to place your bike. There is also space in the transition area for your gear.

The transition area is located along the bank of the beautiful Potomac River south of the Lincoln Memorial in West Potomac Park, with the Washington Monument in plain sight. The walk from the transition area to the swim start sis less than a minute and the run back into T1 should take less than 30 seconds.

Athletes are required to rack their bikes on Saturday and ample overnight security is provided. The transition area will open up at 9:00 AM for gradual bike removal after the race.

According to a 2009 participant:

"This was my most enjoyable triathlon experience to date. The event was very well run and I have already registered for 2010. Because of the layout of the course, I would highly recommend The Nation's Triathlon to any athlete in search of a PR. I know I'll be back in search of mine!"
